Every year thousands of immigrants from all over the world arrive in El Paso, TX, the poorest major metropolitan area in Texas and the fifth poorest city in the U.S.

Las Americas Immigrant Advocacy Center serves the most vulnerable in our immigrant community:

• refugees who are escaping persecution and seek political asylum,
• battered women who are poor and unable to access opportunities for safe shelter and seek help and justice, and
• unaccompanied children, who are traveling alone to escape abuse and neglect and seek reunification with their family members.

We provide high quality pro-bono legal representation for these indigent refugees and immigrants.

We collaborate with government and private agencies that work with immigrants.

We nurture self-reliance and self-esteem amongst our clients and coordinate aggressive public education throughout the El Paso area.

Las Americas one of the few agencies providing direct legal services on a regular basis to detained children and juveniles along our border area and monitoring the children's living conditions while they are held in detention facilities.
